While in Hong Kong, we had a little excitement scare when it looked like Mega Typhoon Megi might hit Hong Kong. Tropical cyclone warning level 3 was in place and at one point, level 8 looked imminent which generally means that nobody leaves home, all public transport closes, all shops and malls close and flights will be cancelled.
Luckily the typhoon moved north and the warning was reduced to level 1 the day before our flight back to Bangkok.
